The 2nd Cobb Award for the Common Good to Dr. Mary Evelyn Tucker in recognition of her profound understanding of Chinese culture and her tireless efforts to promote the ecological movement worldwide.
Dr. Tucker is a specialist in Confucianism, who is co-founder of the Forum on Religion and Ecology. With John Grim, she organized ten conferences at Harvard (resulting in ten books) on “World Religions and Ecology.” From 1997-2000 she was a member of the International Earth Charter Drafting Committee. She teaches at the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and in the Yale Divinity School.
